Where has Rob V gone???
« on: December 16, 2007, 02:49:18 PM »
He hasn't clocked in since 11/15/07, and his last post was 10/30/07: not like him!
I thought maybe he fell off the edge of the world or something, but checked over at Boxerworks and he's steady posting over there.

If Rob hath forsaken us, I vote that Bob Roller be appointed to take his place in the moderator's position of power and glory. I elect Bob because:

A) He's here a lot.
B) He seems to be quite knowledgeable about R65s and other bikes too.
C) He (at least) appears to be friendly, helpful, and emotionally stable, kinda, more or less  ::)

All those in favor?

I second that nomination.  I know that I've done very little in comparison to Rob since the new forum was launched, and I fear I'll have even less time in the future, since now that I (finally) finished school I need to focus on finding a job!  Bob R. can have my post as moderator, Justin, if Rob still stays active on the forum!   ;)

Sheesh!! The poor guy can't even go to the toilet and you murderous, mutinous blaggards have Rob replaced. No vote from me till I hear from Rob. :P

I wonder if it has anything to do with those leg shields he installed on his R65!  The cold weather riding may have limited his computer time.... :D

Another aside - there are more people showing up with neglected R65s and it is hard to watch them going through the same problems again.  You have to be a saint to keep on posting to take these people under the wing as it were - especially when your advise doesn't solve their problems.

If Rob V needs a breather I understand.   8-)

Nor do I.

I am beginning to fade on Boxerworks, as well.  Nothing personal.

Everyone needs a little breather or vacation now and then - I'm not ready to call for the ousting of Rob V just because he has been quiet lately..
I sometimes go for quite a while without posting, but it doesn't mean that I don't swing by to visit, or have lost interest !  Sometimes it is a matter of personal time, and sometimes it is good to let someone else hold the reins for a little while.. for a change of pace.

I agree, and wasn't calling for anyone to be ousted, just making an observation about a very active member that suddenly went silent.
I have no idea what a moderator's actual duties are here, but thought that if one were needed on a daily basis that Bob Roller would be a good candidate.
So, I apologize if it sounded like I was calling for someone's replacement, as that was never my intention, at all... :-[

Like I said earlier, Justin, give Bob R. my Moderator's post!  Bob is here every day, and that is important.  After the first of the new year, I will probably only check in on weekends, since I will be busy selling myself on the job market.  I'll still post now and then, but not as often as I was when I was a mere "student"!  ::)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, my question to Justin would be, do I need any computer skills to perform moderator duties ?

I possess no practical computer skills other than cruising the internet, I'm pretty much a dullard in this area.

My job duties get in the way as well as everyone else here, the industry that I'm in ( airline ), is going through a tough time as of late, and we've been told that 2008 is going to be a financially painful year for Southwest Airlines, so we are expected to have more asked of us like, working overtime and days off, so the company doesn't have to hire more people, to reduce costs.

So what I'm getting at, is that I may not be here as much in the future, like the current members that are moderators at  this time.

From the avatars on Rob V's. posts on Boxerworks,  it seems like a lot of his time is spent promoting the Hemp industry ( as an alternative fuel ! ) , and a campaign manager for the US presidental candidate Ron Paul !!!

I only want what is best for our planet and country, and for once, we have a candidate that meets those goals.
Sit back, and watch all four segments... and learn.  And try not to be scared.

As for alternative fuel, my brother-in-law was telling me about some Europeans that are working with compressed air to propel a vehicle!
