Well, the reason I even brought up the deal about the BMWICC in the first place was because I'm also a member of another BMW forum, the "Chromeheads" (
www.chromeheads.org) which is dedicated to the R1200C (my dream bike), and I read a posting the other day where they were now recognized by the BMWICC as an official "vitrual club" after getting at least 5 members to signed their application for recognition as a virtual club. They had also made up a pretty neat patch, too (which I bought for when I finally get my "C") that was submitted to the BMWICC for approval (they followed the same guidelines we did when we designed our patch). I thought we had sent one to them right after we got the patches in. (Which was what, two years ago?)
I thought we deserved to be officially recognized as well as a "virtual club" and be included at RA and MOA rallies as one of the virtual clubs attendees can indicate they are members of. I don't think it costs anything to become a virtual club member like it costs the MOA and RA, since they have membership dues. Personally, I think our organization (such as it is) is just as worthy as the Internet BMW Riders, the "Chain Gang" (dedicated to the F650 family of bikes), and the Oilheads.
Just my opinion, of course. There may not be all that many of us R65 nuts out there, but I think we're just as important as any other group of BMW lovers! 8-)
