Yearend Mileage Total
« on: December 31, 2006, 07:09:50 PM »
I rode the R65 3,000 miles and the R1150R 5,000 miles in 2006. That's pretty pathetic for a rider that can ride all year long ! Hopefully 2007 will see an increase in riding activity.

Well,  I managed to push Britta just over 10k miles for 2006.  I wish I had gotten her clutch and carbs fixed earlier, 'cause I probably could've added at least another 2k on to what I had.  She sat on the bench for about 8 weeks during the year due to these problems.  But at least she's running strong now!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

8,200 on the R65, about 2,000 on the Triumph (that paint job ran well into the summer, when I usually would be RIDING the Triumph)  But I can't paint when it's cold.

Pretty much just commuting; I bet there's another 20,000 on my car.

i rode a total of 12,187 miles on the KZ. most of it was commuting with some long rides in there for fun. i rode to work 191 days this year. would have rode more but we had some early snow and cold weather and i couldnt get the ol kz lit up. she said it was to cold for her i guess.

plan on riding even more next year when i get the r65 done. it will become my daily runner and i might put the kz up for sale then??

For me it was a different year alright...11,675 miles total.  here's the list  [smiley=deal2.gif]
6,380 on the R1100RT
1,692 on LRB...disgusting on my part!
3,603 on the new F650GS

Everyone off the road on Nov. 26th.  Big mistake. maybe I'll join the Rounders forum and see what others do about protection from winter salt etc. Or...hee, hee [smiley=idea2.gif] [smiley=idea2.gif]  get a beater bike and practise donuts in the snow!! [smiley=evil.gif]
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".

Probably between both bikes I combined around 8000 miles.  I only live about 15 miles from work now so the commute doesn't rack up the miles like it did when it was 45 miles one way.  Probably put 2k on the car,  I have a 5 1/2 year old vehicle and just rolled 40k miles on it.  What a wast of an exxtended warranty!  :-/

That's it Sue!  Get a bike you don't mind getting mucked up and ride it all year long!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
I didn't even track my mileage this year.  It wasn't much on the R65, though.  [smiley=cowsleep.gif]

We took the Laverdas to the mountains and left them there for the summer, so most of my riding was on the Ghost Strike this year.  And the weather has been SO GREAT this winter, so far...
Next year will be better for the beemers as we'll rack up some miles on the trip up to Nova Scotia.  [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

I forgot to mention, that I rode one of my bikes to work EVERY day in 2006. I guess that's not too much of an accomplishment, seeing as I do live in Phoenix! I'm only 90 days away from the 2 year mark, since I drove one of the cars to work.

My goal is at least once per week, though I think that will have to be interrupted for a while.  I hope that's not a CRX that you're neglecting!   :D

Well Ed, the CRX only had 3300 mi (5300 km.) put on it in 2006. But it got a good thrashing in October, found some great roads in eastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico. I wore 1/4 inch (6mm) off of the Yokohama AVS tires in just 1200 miles (1935 km.). Did I mention that I couldn't get the grin off of my face for a week after that! Did I also mention that I needed a new set of tires after that little adventure!

Your car is going to last for ever at that rate, if you can keep it from rusting out.  Shouldn't be a problem where you live.  Yeah, it's sad but my crx can out corner either one of my bikes.  I just need to quit hauling so much loose junk in it.  I'm surprised that you didn't need bailed out!

Ed, the roads that I was on had Darwinian Theory written all over them: stupid animals die first! Arizona 191 formerly known as Arizona 666 the 'Devil's Highway' from accounts with co-workers that have ridden and driven both, that the Tail Of The Dragon in North Carolina, pales in comparison to the Devil's Highway in Arizona. It was a 3 hour drive that you could never let your guard down on what was going to happen next. No law enforcement was visible the entire drive, if you went off the road and didn't start a fire in the ponderosa pine forest, it could be years before you would be found! I could never ride any of my bikes as I did that little CRX, I doubt I could drive my Z-3 as hard as I did the CRX. It's really a well balanced machine.

Aïda!!  You're going to Nova Scotia [smiley=clap.gif]  You'e going to love the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton!! Brother Rich lives in Baddeck and if he's around I am sure he would appreciate a visit! He's got the K75C and a Kawasaki Nomad. He'd probably show ya around too so you can take in a bit of the local culture [smiley=1drink.gif]

Lots of ceildh's too if you like the celtic music!  Pronounced kay-lee.  I cannot find how to spell that properly and it is awkward but what it is is a group of good fiddlers with a piano and sometimes pipes get together almost anywhere to have what is in essence a kitchen party with music. They usually use small halls anymore as it is a tourist attraction. Rich's lady friend is a Cape breton Fiddler so there is music in her home anytime.

Maybe we can meet ya there! About 1500 miles away from me here though.
