LED Blinker Relay

I converted my front turn signals to LED. I tried them and as I thought,  they work but they flash quickly.

The remedy is to head to the local parts store and get a flasher that will work with LED's. I did that and they don't work at all, not fast and not slow, nada, zip point dodo, I put the old original flasher relay back in and I'm back working but with the fast blinkers.

My question to the group, those that have converted to LED's and they are working, What part number and brand of 3 prong relay did you use?

(hopefully I will still be able to get on the site, I was down for about a week and unable to access the site except for the screen that looks like a old bulletin board, and none of the buttons  work for some odd reason it just started working again)

CF13 or CF14. They have +- pins reversed and without pulling tank on mine, not sure which! Pins numbers to various standards on the various relays. I'm guessing they gave you the wrong one.

Thanks DH you got me on the right track  I had a Novita EP34 I need a Novita EP36 it was the load(bulbs) and the input(battery) that is swapped on the two units.

Bottom line:  The  NOVITA EP36 (or its electrical equivalent)  is the correct turn signal flasher unit for a R65 Twin shock.1981-1985 when upgrading to LED's

I just checked Haynes pin numbers - CF14 1981 on. 4 pin before that.

My R65 blinkers are stock, but I have converted both the GSA and KLE to LED.

I bought several relays that claimed LED compatibility, but no e worked satisfactorily.

I then bought resistor "dummy" loads and fitted them in series with the blinkers  - BLISS.

An irrelevant side note, I was a bit resentful in the case of the GSA as relays for it are over a hundred dollars. I later discovered that cutting two tracks on the onboard circuit board converts them for led perfectly.

Just as a side note I use a cheap capacitor slugged relay unit on my B50. As all is needed is enough power to operate the relay and the capacitor controls the release timing.

Sorry I missed this one, I've also had trouble viewing  the board again just recently.

To add  - I've also used the Novita relay from the local auto  parts store with success, and I discovered that it will work with regular bulbs as well so you can keep a standard bulb as a spare if necessary.

Thanks for the info on the Novita relay. I've been looking for something like this for a while. It was plug-and-play on my '84 and works perfectly with led bulbs.

The Novita EP35 also work just fine with LED bulbs
they are close to the same thing just slightly different load rating
