I watched Brook Reams’ swingarm bearing replacement video and he used the same set that I’ve purchased (below) which was about $65 in our currency, so probably even cheaper for you guys. Its Chinese made, but ok quality for what it is and it managed to do both my swingarm bearings and my rear wheel bearings which I did yesterday.
Jschara - I managed to get a fine screw driver blade between the top hat and the seal lip and managed to lever it up one side then the other. As BPT says, they’re not in there too tight.
Interestingly, my rear wheel bearing assembly looked nothing like the Clymer diagram? I’ve been chasing a bearing noise and a rear end wobble for a couple of months, and I think I found both! judging by the state of one of the outer bearing races.... That looks to me to be the result of incorrect pre load on those tapered wheel bearings.
