Netherlands Purchase
« on: December 06, 2007, 11:46:24 PM »
I've been referred here because I'm thinking about buying this item from a company in the Netherlands that requires payment by check or money order. This is the link to the item( I hope I get it right):
<http://www.bmwboxersupplies.com/product_info.php/cPath/2/products_id/68?osCsid=b5d70680386e2788751e67c22a462456>
I was told that there are several participants in this forum who live in the Netherlands and could possibly tell me that this is a "straight up" company and OK to send funds to.

Thanks!

Paul

As we all are always seeking sources for items for our beloved bikes.
I relate to your concern/inquiry.
Cash or Kind payments to anyone or any business can be fraught with risk.
I will always think long and hard regarding situations with no recourse/results other than learning/regret from disappointment.
I can not advise other than proceed as you are, cautiously.
I felt compelled to reply as I facilitate/arbitrate/negotiate disputes and disagreements daily. I did not research this vendor's policies & procedures. You should if you consider doing business with them. Ask all questions before, not after its too late.

I do not know the firm, but do all my shopping on the net with payment in advance, either by  check or by bank, and I have never been cheated. Some times I pose a few technical questions before I buy and get a feeling of the seller's seriousness by his reactions to my questions.

European firms are bound by rather strict EU rules and there are very few fraudulent firms on the net.

Yes, this is a straight up company, I've been there 3 times now, one of which was to bring my gearbox which they overhauled for me, and maybe they will sell my R65G/S for me the coming year.

here you see the owner Mat at work on my gearbox

and here he is meddling with my finished bike at the boxerparty he throws every year
