Small bracket with a tapped hole under tank?
« on: May 12, 2018, 12:54:31 PM »
Hi all,

I'm just curious--there's a small bracket with a tapped hole on the underside of my '84 tank, and I don't know what it's for. Fiche doesn't give me a clue, either. Does anyone know?

Thanks much

We talked about this quite some years ago so you might find it with a search.  I think the consensus was that it was a hanging bracket for painting the tank. On my tank with original paint, there is part of the bracket with missing paint with a clean straight demarcation line as if it was used for just this purpose.

It is the grounding lug to prevent radio interference on Police spec bikes
There would be  a wire from it to the frame

Interesting! Thanks for the info. I did a cursory search but nothing turned up.
