Kudos to you, MrClu. good work then.  It was the tubular clamps that looked familiar, I thought I'd seen a similar shape somewhere.  Maybe plumbing, conduit, outdoor awnings?   I can't remember......

The clamps are made from 1 1/4 X 1/8  steel strap wrapped around a socket then welded together with the tubes for the bolts and then cut apart

$80 US to the left coast. Not as bad as I thought it might have been. Kinda bulky to pack

I sure like those but I think it's just too much for me to toss away......it would ruin a $400 dollar bill if the price doesn't go up. I think I'll pass and I will congratulate myself the next time I reach into my pocket for money and find I still have some.  ;D
