seat mounting points

Hi everybody,

I'm new to the forum and have a questions regarding the seat mounting points of the various R65 reincarnations. I've done a quick search of the forum but couldn't find the information I am looking for.

I currently own an early eighties dual shock r65 that I plan to modify. As I do not wish to destroy any of the original parts I have been looking for a replacement seat to use the seat pan of (it will be shorted at the back). From what I've found on the internet, the seats are not interchangeable between the dual shock and mono shock models. This could have any reason (e.g. integrated rear fairing on the earlier model). My question is, are the distances between the mounting hooks and pin the same between the models? This would suit my needs as I plan to reshape the seat pan and reupholster anyway.

The sub frames are all different part numbers but maybe the hinge positions are the same. I can offer up the dimensions for the 78 -80 model -27cm between hinge centres.

My '81 R100 has a mono-shock seat and tail cowl installed.  The seat attached to the dual-shock subframe just fine and IIRC the rear cowl did with just a couple of spacers at the rear mounting points.  That being said I have not tried to install one on an R65.  The wheelbase on an R65 is a tad shorter so the subframes might be a bit shorter as well, I really don't know.
