Who is running with LED H4 conversion bulb?
« on: June 05, 2017, 10:17:55 PM »
I wanted to save some amps and was thinking about an LED for a headlight since the darn thing is on 24/7. 1.4 amps against a Halogen at 5 amps seems a considerable savings especially on those around town heavy traffic battery killer rides.

After reading two reviews it appears that high beam performance, "down the road" light is no gain and maybe less than a Halogen.

I would like to save some amps but absolutely do not want to give up any distance on the High beam. Anybody run with LEDs at night ? What ya say?

Joe, I have switched every light on mine to LED. I did lose a little high beam range but the whiteness of the light makes a big difference. Also with the amps I saved I was able to mount some LED driving lights on the engine guards that more than makes up for the long distance lighting when I really need it.
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.

Marcmax........... Back when I was doing night driving at speed I ran a couple of lamps the illuminated the sides of the road and found that to be a big help. My field of vision went up 200%.

My concern now is "do not degrade the light that I have and don't kill the battery around town". I think having my low beam on a switch to go to the LED in the day time will do that for me.
