LS cowling- putting back on
« on: September 26, 2007, 06:42:24 PM »
well, I am stumped. I got the cowling/mini fairing off to replace the speedo, and am having the darndest time putting it back on. It will NOT go flush to the gauges- as if it were hitting on something towards the bottom. I have checked all the cables, wires, etc, but have not been able to make it work. Am I missing something here??

Thanks in advance.

Umm, the cowling on my bike doesn't go all the way to being flush with the surfaces
of the gauges - can you post a pic of what you mean ?  Are you certain that it slid
on as far as you're trying to get it to go ?   some of the edge tabs are gone off mine, so
I have less to go by as far as just how far it needs to go, but once the leading edge is
at the top edge of the headlight, how much further does it look like it must go ?
Does the ignition switch fit properly in the hole ?

I could swear it was flush with the instruments prior to the removal. I can get the ignition circle thing threaded, but as I tighten it, it starts to stress the plastic of the dash board/cowling.
I will try to post a picture tomorrow.
Thanks!
