Brown side stand install
« on: August 12, 2015, 06:52:30 PM »
Just recieved my new stand. Could one of you fine folks shoot a close up pic of how its mounted? I've got one exhaust clamp at the frame so that's one attachment. The other clamp is much further down and keeps the can on the pipe. Do I need another clamp? Size? Any help is greatly appreciated! Oh it's says r65 on it so I assume it will fit my LS.

Not a great picture of a Brown's installation but here is how I had mine installed. I had a 2-1 exhaust down the right side so I had no exhaust clamp for the Brown's sidestand. What I did was use an exhaust clamp around the frame rail with some shims underneath the clamp. Worked great and I never had an issue where I felt the sidestand was not stable and secure. Hope this helps.

One hole is mounted with the motor mount bolt and the other with the exhaust pipe clamp. I think the hole closest to the spring goes on the motor mount but it will be obvious when you line it up which one goes where.

Thanks man. I guess bikes are like art. The longer you stare at it the more you understand. Figured it out. Stoked on the new stand!

You will love it! Best money I spent on my R65. If I didn't have 3 wheels (sidecar) and no longer need it I would still have mine mounted.
