I've had good luck with the economical EMGO product line on my '83 R65. Believe member Bengt Phorqs has them on his snazzy R90. Yes, made in China or there abouts.

Since someone brought it up, let's have some suggestions about a problem I'm having:

anybody got any solutions that isn't http://www.keihan.co.uk/catalogue.html?  Something like duct tape, or at least that cheap?

Any competent welder, who is aircraft certified, should be able to put it back together.
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.

Matt, there is a BMW motorcycle parts seller on eBay in Austin, goes by the name on eBay, lamontsanfurd, or similar spelling .
Real name, Larry Chabira .
You may want to contact him and see if he has any replacement parts on hand .
He has an email contact in his profile, don't know if it's still a good address or not .

I can vouch for Larry Chabira's honesty, integrity and great sense of humor. I have purchased numerous BMW bits and one '83 R65 from ol' Lamont. Not all of his stuff is listed in his eBay store so suggest calling him. As he is in the business of selling, I doubt he would mind me providing his contact info.

Tell him I sent you... he may charge you extra for admitting that. ::)

Are those Staintunes, Bill?  I didn't see where it said the brand.   Just buy them, and remember that price the next time your BSA needs anything.  A whole freaking Triumph exhaust system for the price of a pair of BMW mufflers.

Well I bought the Mac system.  Installed and running.  A bit louder but still a nice sound.
