The way I've seen in manuals for adjusting float height, is to turn the carb upside down and adjust the tang, to where the float is parallel to the body of the carb .
I installed the independent float kit on my '81 R65 back in 1997, I really don't think it was worth the effort or cost to do this .
One part that Bing had, was molded plastic floats, but they discontinued this part a few years ago .
I think changing the floats every 4-5 years, or better yet, weigh a new set of floats and then take them off every few years, weigh them and see if they have absorbed any fuel and have become heavier .
