center stand hitting clutch fork
« on: December 20, 2014, 10:24:48 PM »
Hello everyone
My center stand is fowling my clutch fork when it in the up position.
Not allowing me to properly adjust the cable.
The clutch fork has to be adjusted forward to clear the end of the stand
Does someone have the service bulletin that talks about the center stand retro fit kit
I think they  may have added the kick starter bump stop on the    frame  to limit the upward travel of the center stand

Right now the plug in the end of the center stand hits the frame  but when it wears down from banging  the frame it starts to let the right side of the center stand fowl the clutch fork.
I think I am going just clamp a hunk of rubber on the frame  to stop it or just cut the right side of the center stand off about 10mm
I know I can figure out something but was wondering what the factory did
Thanks Mark

Not sure sure about an 82 but on mine the factory did nothing and my stand works as you describe with the LH rubber end stop contacting the frame tube. I've added a rubber sleeve to frame tube which helps.

The only relevant SI I have is a European service bulletin on centre stands in general.
