Can't seem to get the search engine to work so I'll ask what a good compression reading should be?  125# or more? :-?

You may already know ... best values are obtained with healthy battery, adjusted valves, warm engine and carbs removed.

I'd say that if you test according to Mike's details and get 125 PSI or above on each cylinder, you're good.
