but...
The cupped ends of the shoes go on the pivot pin towards the front of the bike. The straight ends go on the brake cam.
Upper and lower shoes are different. With the cam in place you can see how they will only fit on the cam one way. The upper shoe is
shorter from front to back, the lower shoe is
longer from front to back. With the springs between both shoes you should be able to snap them over the pivot pin and brake cam.
Are you putting in a new set of shoes? The LS has unique shoes and springs because of its bigger drum. I must have told my dealership "LS" five times but they still gave me the wrong shoes
