79 R65 front brake line same at 81 R65?

I'm looking to upgrade my 79 R65 front brake line to a SS braided line.  Spiegler (https://www.spieglerusa.com/brakes/cycle-brake-line-kits.html) seems to have some nice ones but they only go back as far as 81.

Would that work on the 79??

Otherwise anyone have a recommendation?

The '79 model year bike, has a pressure switch to operate the brake light, so it is different from an '81 year bike, the US bikes for that year, came with dual front discs, so it won't fit your brake configuration .

I've gotten three sets of brake lines from Speigler, they will help you to get this sorted out, great people to do business with  .

Send them an email with what you have and see if they have that configuration in their data base .

Worse case scenario, you can send them your brake lines and they will make up a set for you .

Usually quick turn around times, less than 2 weeks .

This is what yours should look like. There is a short hose (#8) to a splitter at the back of the headlamp to connect the pressure switch (#10) then one long hose (#4) down to the bracket attached to the fork leg then the short metal pipe (#1) to the caliper.

Someone recently replaced the line in a single length by incorporating the pressure switch in a banjo bolt fitting at the master cylinder.
Brake lines are standard fittings with 10mm x 1.0 threads so many places will be able to make up what you want.
