Tires on the web
« on: October 07, 2012, 08:40:08 AM »
Wondering if anyone has found a good place to buy Metzeler tires on line. Seems like prices are all over the map and some places don't have the right sizes for our bikes.

I've used Bike Bandit and Southwest Mototires the last 10 years and have been satisfied with the prices and delivery time .

Unfortunately the Metzeler tires are more costly than other tires .

Not only are Metzelers costly, but they also wear quickly making them even more expensive. I've had good luck with the Bridgestones, but they recently had a huge jump in price.

Last Bridgestone (front tire) I had was fine, until the bitter end.  I'd worn it past replacement time, and by then the grip was not reliable, resulting in a little pavement surfing on my part.

I suppose you could say I got nothing less than expected, but I pretty much treat all my tires the same and haven't seen such a drastic change in grip through the life of the tire with Metzelers.  I'm looking forward to trying Avons next, I think.

I use Dennis Kirk.  Although their listed on-line prices seem rather steep they will beat any verifiable price you can provide.  I don't use Metzlers anymore as the last couple of headshake issues I've had turned out to be the front Metzler tire.  I really like the Michelin Macadams but I'm not sure what I'll switch to when these are gone...
