Does anybody have a technique for removing the grip on the trottle barrel without damaging the grip itself???

A thin flat blade screwdriver and some liquid soap or window cleaner .

Get the blade between the grip and throttle barrel, then put some soap in there and work the blade around to get the soap distributed .

Hello !
Use your compressor and air ...
Insert the nozzle between the grip and the barrel, release the air and advance from here. You'll be surprised with the efficiency of the trick... Awful noise though .....

Sometimes, if things are particularly sticky, I will squirt some WD-40 in between the grip and the grip tube.  you'll want to clean things up well afterwards, but it has never failed me yet unless someone's used some excessively strong adhesive on the grip.

The brand new throttle tube comes with a new grip already glued on.
I wanted to change it to the smoother italian style grips that I was running on the bike so I removed the factory one.
Wow that one was glued on really well! I used the thin bladed screwdriver trick but still poked on hole through the genuine grip.

If anyone is after a (almost) perfect genuine throttle grip I have one I'm not using.

i used some soapy water and a thin screwdriver to pry the grip from the glue worked a charm... Cheers for the replies lads..
