IN-LINE FUEL FILTER
« on: July 31, 2012, 06:40:34 AM »
Can anyone tell me which way round the in-line fuel filter should be? Does it matter.

Thanks

It should be installed with the fuel coming in around the filter element, so you can see if there is any debris in the filter .

There should be an arrow or similar marking on the transparent casing. I have removed mine --  not able to find one small enough. The small m/c ones from Vehicle Wiring Products fit but the pressure from the bends in the fuel hose ends up bending the filter's outlet stubs and eventually they start leaking because of this. Any better ideas, anyone? Two right-angle hose connectors don't solve the problem completely and look pretty silly as well.

Thanks for that. The arrow on mine has rubbed away but I guess it makes sense that the fuel goes in and around the filter then through the gauze filter on the way out.

I have ordered another one tho from Moto Bins. Cost was only £2.49
