Head bolt

Members,

I'm looking at an 87 airhead that one of the head bolts was found stripped and repaired by Moon Powersports in MN.  I'm told some type of repair that was referred to as a re-sleeve was used, is anyone familiar with it?  Is it fixed?  Any possible issues I might run into down the road?

I was also told that this procedure was used/developed by some engineering guy out west.  The seller of the airhead, stated, he contacted "OAK", who referred the owner to the engineer, the owner and servicing dealer contacted the engineer to acquire the details in the re-sleeve.

Any insight you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Jim

Ken,

The seller said the mechanic at Moon Powersports has the last name of MOON, any chance you are familiar with him?  I would like to talk with him and get his perspective on the repair.

I'm planning on riding my LS "Poppy" to Sedalia.

Not sure about that but the service manager is who you should ask for - don't know his name but a very straight shooter.  This dealership is rated #1 by many riders in twin cities.
