Where to Buy Spare Parts
« on: June 28, 2012, 09:13:06 PM »
Hi,

I wanted to poll the group on where to go online to purchase spare parts for your R65, particularly rubber and plastic pieces and touch-up paint.

This is biased toward the USA.

Thanks!
Danny

You're pretty much restricted to BMW dealers for new OEM type parts .

May want to check around the SF area and see if you have any airhead friendly dealers there .

There's always eBay, but you don't know what you're going to get sometimes .

Online, A&S BMW in Roseville, CA., just outside of Sacramento is a popular site .

Bob's BMW, Capitol Cycle in the Washington D. C. area .

MAX BMW, somewhere in the northeast US .

I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

For touch up paint try Holt BMW in Athens, Ohio.

I have used Bob's BMW on a number of occasions, with no problems.  They usually have whatever part I am looking for in stock (unlike my local BMW dealer).

I like to deal with Tom Cutter at http://rubberchickenracinggarage.com/

He's the resident Guru and he is also the parts guy. When I order something he asks all the Right questions to make sure I end up with all the widgets to do the job.  He also answers questions on the Airhead list and gives of himself and I like to trade with folks like that.

He's in PA but ships USPO priority so it's about the same if you are having anything shipped in.
