Got the last of my parts for my carbs yesterday, so I'll finish up the last few items. Found some interesting problems , first the needles on the slides, the left cylinder was set at position 2 and the right carb was set at position 3. Bing manual calls out for position 3. This was the first time the needles had been removed. Second the left carbfloat adjustment was way off, I installed the alcohol resistant float kit about 9 years ago, and I know I set it at the proper setting, as I made a tool to check the setting. This upgrade has two independent floats in each bowl, one float was correct, and one was 5 mm off. So if you have this upgrade, might want to check the adjustment on occasion, as it looks like you can cause a problem by not being a bit careful re-installing the bowl. The throttle shaft o-rings were just dried up shriveled pieces of 'plastic' looking material. Everything in general needed a real good cleaning. Removing and re-peening the throttle plate screws are not that difficult of a job, so don't be too intimidated by it.
