Well, crud, did I break my hardshell latch?
« on: November 01, 2011, 06:07:10 PM »
Hey everyone,

I was putting on my hardshell case today, and when I pulled up on one of the latches, then entire latch popped off the back half of the case.  This is the latch that closes the case.

It kind of looks like it should pop back on, but I can't figure out how.  Does if pop back on somehow, or is it broken?

Thanks,

Dell

We need more information.

Krauser saddlebags?

BMW "Touring"?  If so, early (flat key) or later ones with the tumbler locks?

Normally they're riveted to the case.

Hey Rob, sorry about that.  It's a BMW touring bag, NO locks or key (flat key??), just like the one in this ebay picture:

Thanks for the help.

I think wirespokes is correct.  You will need to rivet it on.
That means you will need to remove what is left of the original rivet.

These latches are available for about $25.  46 54 2 315 320

That's just weird.  It just came right off, like it was supposed too.  Fortuntatly I have a couple trashed cases in the shop I can propably pop on off of.

Thanks guys.
