master cylinder rebuild & stainless brake line?
« on: June 04, 2007, 10:16:06 PM »
any recommendations for a source for a kit, or just the individual parts to rebuild the rectangular master cylinder on an '81 R65?

Chicago BMW, bikebandit.com, or other?

also a good source for a stainless brake line? i see 'me listed on ebay, but i haven't checked prices anywhere else.

bike has a single, Brembo claiper.

If you enjoy supporting the small guy, give Matt at Boxerworks a call.
I know he can fix you up with your rebuild kit - 706 310-0031

The kit is about the same from Chicago BMW or Moto-Bins so if you're in a hurry go Moto-Bins.  I ordered the kit from Chicago BMW in March and it was $40 and took a little over a month to get.

I found the best prices on brake lines, by far, from Moto-Bins.  I bought new stainless lines for my '95 R100RT for less than the stock rubber ones were priced from a domestic dealer.

no hurry.... i've got no lack of other things to work on... and it's not like the beemer is a daily driver at the moment.

i like supporting the little guy... as long as i'm not paying extra for the privilege.
