Installing a Hazard switch

Hey, I have a Hazard warning switch from a K100; Part no 61311459305.
It fits the R65's spare switch holders at the instrument panel.

I would like to have a hazard function on the R65 but I really don't know anything with regard to electrics.But I know the part was supposed to be a simple plug and play on the K bike.

Is it possible to install this on the R65?

Does it have a plug that matches the empty socket (green?) next to the fuse holder under the seat?

I don't have one fitted myself but I recall this being discussed here before. Vague idea that it connects at this point.

You need to install another  relay and to wire it into the bike .

I installed the kit on my '81 R65 and it was not a straight forward ( plug and play) installation .

The plug & play kit was made for the '78-'80 models.
Anything else will take some modification.

There is a very simple way to wire up 4-ways, but I am getting ready to leave for work & don't have time to look it up right now.  It might not allow the use of the switch you have (I don't know what that one looks like).
Perhaps someone else will chime in with the schematic before I get back.

I fitted a genuine hazard light switch to my R65 back when the parts were available new from BMW. The kit consisted of the switch, a loom and relay and a plug in diode. The diode allowed the hazard light switch to power itself when the ignition was turned from on to off, but not to come on if the ignition was off before the hazard lights were turned on.

And this is the crux:

Method #2 uses a DPST switch instead of the bike's kill switch, and no diodes. The diodes aren't needed because the switch's two poles isolate the left and right turnsignal circuits from each other mechanically. Solder everything together as shown and tape or shrink-tube the whole thing. The eyelet end goes to the battery + termi­nal and the other two ends go to the right (blue/black) and left (blue/red) turn signal wires.
