I checked the RealOEM site, and the part numbers for the '78-'80 bikes are different from the bikes manufactured 9/80 and later .
'81 R65
'82 R65 LS
'84 R65 LS
'87 Moto Guzzi V65 Lario
'02 R1150R
Riding all year long since 1993 .
I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

They should fit, providing nothing to the rear, near the 2nd cross over is in a different place (foot peg mounts, etc.).

But from what I have read, you will curse trying to get both cross overs connected.

But I would buy OEM before BUB headers.  I did, and they don't fit nicely AT ALL.  False economy.

Probably Chicago BMW.  Place your order on the phone vs. the internet.  It might speed up the process.  They will also be able to tell you the true price, as they are not allowed to display their 20% off prices on the internet, anymore.
