clamp ons or sportier handlebars for R65

I'd like to replace the original handlebars on my 81 R65 with clamp ons or a sportier single piece handlebar. Any recommendations?

give me a week and i will show you what i am doing. i should have my new clamp ons waiting for me at home as i write this.

there are a couple of different types out there to use, some alot of $$ some not so $$ i went with the in between $$. i have had them on other bikes and would recommend that you spend a little more and get the ones with the replaceable bars. i say that because there have been times where i needed an inch or two more bar on the fixed clips ons and there was nothing i could do but weld on extension on. if you get the type with replaceable bars you can get a straight bar and cut to the length you need. or if you need to replace a bar because it tipped or layed down. that make any sense?

my $0.02

like i said my cafe with the clip ons should be pretty darn close this week so you can see what you think.

I put R100RS bars on my R65.  I did not change any cables or hose so I could switch back if I wanted to.

flong,

What handlebar do you have on now?  The U.S. bar?  If so, you may be happy with the "S" or Euro bar that was standard on these bikes in Europe.  It has a 2 inch rise, and is fairly narrow.

The RS bar, on the other hand, is totally flat, with some bends to angle the ends backward.

These images are from Flanders.

What kind of riding do you plan on doing?  I wouldn't think clamp-ons (clip-ons) would be very comfortable for much more than 30-45 minutes.  YMMV

it sounds crazy but when you shave a seat down or do like i am with a cafe style seat and then have these knuckle draggin arms like i have, clipons are real easy to have and my back isnt all bent over or anything crazy.
