Del-orto carbs on R65

OK this might not be a ground breaking question, but does anyone run Del-orto`s on their R65? If so do they get a little more herbs out of the R65 or is it just a waste of time? ::)

Haven't heard of anyone on this forum using anything other than Bing carburetors .

You can spend a lot of money trying to make an R65 produce more power or go faster, in the end, it's just not worth the effort .

I don't know if the Dells are more complicated, but they are definitely different - I've never seen them on R65s either - just R90s, even if they weren't the R90"S".    Diameter-wise I'm not sure how good a fit they are.
I know that a number of Moto Guzzis used Dells through the 80s also, so a Guzzi rider/Guzzi forum might be helpful in that regard - they are also airheads with dry clutches!

I have seen folks with Mikunis on their bikes - a fairly common cafe' type of change for R75 bikes as well.   They can work well if one can get them setup properly, but they also are quite difference from the Bings, so one cannot follow the typical Bing troubleshooting paths.

I've got some 34mm Blue Magnums I used on my XS650 once....maybe one day I'll give them a try on the R65.Best bolt on and go easy to tune carb I've ever used.(I have a bit of a collection of Blue Magnums).

TSK TSK TSK  ;D such defeatist attitudes. It know the 65`s are no race bikes and I know they are high reving gems. And I know if I want to go faster I should gett a bigger bike. I have. But its always worth trying little experiments to see what you can make something plain do.
 Just remember. If questions arent asked. problems are never solved.
