Holes in engine case - What are they?
« on: May 18, 2010, 02:53:00 PM »
Just curious... what are the holes in the engine case above the cylinders and just forward of the carbs?  Should they be plugged?  I noticed mine seem to weep oil after a few rides. I never actually SEE oil weeping but within a few rides after cleaning them, there are dirty/oil/greasy streaks running down from them.

Not my bike... just one I found on the Web. See green circle:

Dont plug them they drain the Starter motor cavity, the oil breather feeds through there to the air filter check the breather valve and fittings for leaks if its bugging you.

Doesn't bother me... just wanted to make sure it wasn't something serious.  Thanks, Lou.
