help with indicators
« on: April 03, 2010, 02:01:09 AM »
can anyone help me with this problem,

i have taken off all original indicators of as im in cafe racer trim now and i got some new indicators to put on and i cant get them to work , i have put a meter on the wires and there is a current going to the indicators but they wont light up or flash. put the indicator on to a battery to test and lights up straight away , is this likely to be the flasher relay .
thanks

Are they incandescent globes or LED's, if they are LED's you will need a special flasher unit (but I think they should still be working, they just flash ultra fast with the old type relay?

they are just universal indicators not led one's
is there like a grounding in the left hand switch gear , so when you flick indicator on it has a earth at handle bar.

Manxman,

Speaking of grounding... Have you tested the ground/earth to each indicator bulb? Fuses? Gotta be something simple. I'd suspect the relay last.
