Does this go with my R65?

Still trying to put the pieces together but making some progress:

I didn't see this piece on Real OEM - it looks like something the tank would sit on but still not sure.  If anyone has a part number - assuming I'd need (2) would be greatly appreciated.

Also, on my cowl - we're making an aluminum plate and I'm installing an aux power plug and maybe a voltmeter if I can find an inexpensive one that is water resistant - once fitted, the aluminum will be black anodized - just can't justify spending another $100+ on my restore.  There's a open hole above the ignition key hole. Was there a switch cover over here at one point?

Last question - I'm thinking I should replace light bulbs for instruments while I've got her apart - is there a part number for the bulbs and are they all the same?  I think headlight bulb is okay.  Thanks as always,
Ken

The rubber in your first picture looks like the front tank supports on my Honda CB200. (see the detail of the tank)
I've never seen anything like it on our R65s.
The front tank rubber support on our bikes is one-piece that slips over a long, half-round steel bracket.

Your question about the hole above the key.

That is a blank for the 4-way flasher factory accessory.

I think I still have the one I removed from my panel.  You can have it, if I haven't already given it away!

I think that there are also some round rubber supports on either side where the tank "channel" fits over the backbone of the frame - or maybe I'm getting confused with Kawasaki..

Here is a new tank support for pre-1969 BMW's:

But I don't think it is the same thing.
I'm just bored, waiting to go home from work.  12 1/2 hours so far...  ::)

The dash is looking dashing with the new voltmeter.  Thanks to Rob Valdez sending me a green turn signal lens and a hole cover for the center switch, we're moving in the right direction - ever so slowly.

Thanks for all the help so far, guys!  Still a WIP [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

My dash looks different yours.

Is that an LS or a Mono shock dash?

Ken, I think the piece you showed in your original post is a bumper for an Oilhead gas tank.  There are two of them that mount near the steering head, and the gas tank fits over them and is bolted in back.

That is interesting.

It looks as though the LS dash would be more resistant to cracking at the edge compared to the normal R65
