I've seen that screw [leaking] being repaired at an Airheads Tech Day here. The way it was explained is that it is an oil galley plug. Its sole purpose is pro-ported to cover up a hole made when the block is drilled out to create an oil passage. Yes the Engine mounting bolt needs to be removed and by
carefully raising the engine with a jack you will be able to access it. The leaker I saw was fractured and took a bit of finesse to remove. A replacement was simply sourced from a junk block and installed with a good dose of goo. You may be able to get a replacement from the Beemer bone yard or such or perhaps a well stocked industrial hardware supply. Simply a plug, no need to drop the pan. Hope that helps.
