More Putting it Back together Questions R65LS

Bike's starting to look like a bike - noticed battery tray does not have straps - I'll have to order those, right?  Rubber bands won't cut it!

Anyone know thread size for bolt that holds on brake line tree?

Anyone ever painted the tops of their Bing carbs?  I see one used to be blue with a rubberized type paint & the other white.  No big deal just thinking about the details.

Probably need a new ignition lock as key pulls out when turned on or off and even a blank key works!!!

Hunting for the throttle & choke junction boxes - I must've put 'em somewhere just can't figure it out and it's pretty cold still to start tearing the garage apart.

Bike definitely is coming together!!!

Without support from you guys, never would be this far.

Thanks so much!

One thing I miss on an airhead compared to my previous bikes especially old Brits is there is precious little alloy to polish. I only have the flat tops of my Bings to put a shine on so for me I would never consider painting them.

I'm referring to the small little round piece at the very top.

Mine rusted a bit, I just sanded them, and painted them silver .

I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

OK sorry I don't have those bits.

So flat top Bings supposedly inferior in every other respect are at least nicer to polish.

If you can find 'em these days... I've seen Bings with a small, enameled BMW roundels glued to the "small little round piece at the top". Classy looking. And do be sure the caps are secure as loose can mean air issues with the VC function.   Monte
