restoring r65ls mufflers
« on: February 07, 2010, 06:16:06 AM »
the mufflers on my bike have rusted out a couple spots on the ends, about 3" from the outlet. other than those spots they are solid.

what do you think about having them cut down about 4" and rewelding the outlet piece on the end?

anyone done this?

thanks peter

Well, Peter, if the mufflers are rusted through there's no great loss if your experiment should fail. Also, there may be some interior bits that might need a small amount of modification. Give it a try and post your results. Welding thin metal is always fun...  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
