81 Wiring Question re Hazard Light wiring removal

G'day, Im struggling along with the 81 and at the 'wiring delete' stage.  My bike has a hazard light swithch on the dash and I need help with modifying the loom

From the direction of the indicator relay are green/purple, yellow/blu, brown going into the plug
coming from the plug is blue/red, blue/black, green/yellow
Question - if I want to rid of the plug.  I have the wiring diagram in the handbook but cant find any reference to hazard light swithc

Can anyone help?

i've checked both my OEM BMW manual , and the BMW Twins Owners Workshop Manual, and neither list the hazard light as you've noticed, but both have a wire from left and right flashers going to a connector that goes nowhere. The wire colours for this plug are the same, blue/black and blue/red. the OEM manual liosts this connector as left handlebar connector (red) as opposed to left connector (Black)

I would have thought you could just pull the plug off the back of the hazard switch and your indicators would still work, try it and see what happens. I suspect the switch is joining the two sides (left and right) via diodes inbuilt in the switch.

TV, I hold you responsible....
out of curiosity i went out to the bike and pulled the plug on my hazard switch and everything still worked (indicators, not hazard)

Did I mention i also have a 81 R65.

However in doing so i lost my neutral light.
I went straight to the switch and tried o short it out, still didn't work.
Then i thought Whet was the last thing I did that may have caused this.

I removed the cover underneath the dash and yes I have a loose wire. Aaargh.  Too hard to fix right now, and it's only a neutral light, so I wriggled it into the right pplace where it worked put it on my to do list, and bolted everything back up. It's loose in the plug, or it's a loose socket on the plug. either way it's not a 5 second job.

Aaah Huh!!  Yes the actual swithch is big so it might be as you say.  Upon closer inspection I think I may be able to conceal the switch and all the wiring, relocating the switch under the seat.  I'm going to install a Vapour Instrument Panel hence the reason for asking the first question.

I'm getting better at understanfding wiring diagram but tomorrow I get a big magnifying glass as the old eyesight is crap even with these spectacles.
