You might want to give Max BMW a look.  They tend to have a lot in stock and their service is the best.  No 20%, discount, but their listed price on mufflers looks to be the same as Bike Bandit.

And FWIW, I've order a few OEM parts from Bike Bandit and have had no problems, even with returns.

Yikes,
Thanks for the thought, they have none in stock and even though the right side is available - the left OEM R65 muffler is AOL world wide. Still have not heard back from Capital.  JC Whitney? I may contact them to see who the manufacturer is. There's some pretty positive anecdotal reports believe it or not for JCW.
Will probably go with stainless replacements, leaning towards Keihan.

Monte/Mike,

On EPCO website,  click "PRICING" on the left and it's the 4th colum
from top.  or...

I have a JC Whitney Catalog and they are selling muffler for all
1970-on BMW 2 cylinder cycles (except R45 and R65).

Yep, I saw that.  I don't need any mufflers for the R65 but would like to replace the R90 mufflers.  He had them for about $375 if I ordered them at the rally but it didn't fit my budget for this month.  They work just fine, but not so pretty.  Oh well, maybe it will rain this weekend and I'll get out a soft cloth and a fresh bottle of Mother's and put some ZZ Top and George Thorogood on the box.

Wanted to report back as promised...the Keihan SS Mufflers finally arrived and they look great. Very impressive quality welds and finish.  Nice match with the replated headers.  I expect the headers to blue and discolor and only hope they don't blister.  There's was no copper process and they spent a few extra minutes in the dunk tank. Hope the attched picture comes through, if not I'll be happy forward the pics another way. More later...

WOW! [smiley=shocked.gif]Looks amazing.  Just don't worry too much about keeping them so perfect.  If my pipes looked that good, I'd probably hesitate to take the bile outside the garage.

Super job!
