Oil Filters
« on: July 25, 2009, 12:57:10 PM »
Found this on the Euromoto Electrics website, don't know if anyone would be interested or not, for short hinged oil filters .

http://www.euromotoelectrics.com/Oil_Filters_for_BMW_Hinged_and_Bosch_s/6.htm

Anyone have any experience with Bosch oil filters, they have them for about one third the cost that BMW wants for their spin-on type filters for the oilhead and K-series bikes .

The Bosch oil filter pictured looks almost identical to the ones I run in my vintage VW Cabriolet money pit. Lots of car enthusiasts swear by them, not at them.   Monte

According to John, at EME, "The airhead oil filters are made in Canada for US brands like Purolator, Wix, Fram."

Thanks for the link.

The price of those five filters is less than one filter, bought locally.
Hopefully they will be able to send filters to my son in Des Moines IA, for collection before August 16 ........ I placed an order for two 5 packs........should last  at least two years.

We came back from our visit to the US yesterday, and I was quite impressed with the speedy responce by the supplier.

According to the packing slip the filters have been packed on July, 26, (date of order) and sent by ordinary post - as ordered . The filters have been delivered at my son's house at Bondurant IA -  just outside Des Moines, on Agust, 1.

The filters are made in Korea, and one of the metal end flanges on one of the filters has been glued on scew..........the centre rubber might not seal properly, so I have decided not to use the specific filter.

Just as soon as John mentioned that this place manufactured filters for Fram I decided I didn't need to roll dice.  He also indicated they were made in Canada...  I've never had anything but good luck with John's electrical stuff but I'm not inclined to trust no-name oil filters...
