Now that the '81 R65 is perking right along and the Spring weather is close to cooperating, I'm back on the repaint project on the '83 R65.
Previously, I had repaired a small dent in the left-rear upper corner of the fuel tank... Right on the tank's crease lines! Anyway, that's done.
The tank roundels needed to come off -they're brand new by the PO. As y'all know, the thin aluminum discs are muy flexible and will bend if you look at them cross-eyed. I remembered reading somewhere about using dental floss to saw through the foam lined, double-sided tape that hold 'em on.
Well, that idea works just fine so I won't need to buy new farkles. [smiley=thumbup.gif] Sad, but the PO had repainted the tank without removing the tank badges. [smiley=thumbdown.gif] Just a little extra prep sanding for me.
