WOW! I thought i knew a little. NOW I KNOW IT WAS ONLY A LITTLE!
Am I really gonna suck an exhaust valve in the next 1000 miles, break a coil mount, defile my steering head races,  and have my neutral light put on a light show? Geez...I thought the R90's had issues!
I am amazed at the enthusiasm of airhead enthusiasts (and parts houses!)

I always love seeing handy tips like that. I found the safety tip amusing.
"SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!  Always remember that working on your motorcycle can be fraught with danger the risks range from having it fall over on top of you, to setting it and your house on fire". I should have a plaque made with that on it for the garage.
One of my favorite tips comes from a Haynes manual For the Bonneville in the transmission assembly section. It is a tip applicable to many repairs on many makes. It says simply "May take several attempts". This has become a catch phrase between my brother in law and myself when we werk on our bikes together.

That maintenance manual quote reminded me of the first time I had to replace an entry door on a Douglas DC-9 aircraft, there was about 90 pages of text on the adjustment procedures for the door.

The last sentence on the last page stated : Steps in this procedure may have to be performed out of sequence to properly adjust door, if door fails to rig properly, try another door !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It took me 11 attempts to do that job.  

But hey, no fancy tools and shimming needed.
