Does anyone have a spec or recommended manufacturer for engine lacquer?

I'm not sure but possibly check with http://www.eastwoodco.com as they have some clear-coat for polished aluminum wheels.  Maybe check with some Jap-bike shops as I know my old Honda had clear-coated cases.  You also might wind up with some sort of polyurethane coating.  I used clear poly (2 stage) on some aluminium (spelling to humor our Brit Bro's even though it grumps out my spell-checker   ;D ) wheel arch moulding I re-polished on a '65 Impala SS and it held up/looked great.
