Stainless Steel Axles
« on: February 17, 2007, 11:28:20 PM »
Has anyone used any of these?  I see them come up from time-to-time on e-Bay...  Seems like every old Beemer I buy has a really nasty looking rear axle, usually the front's not too bad.  I've been thinking about ordering some stainless stock and "whittling" a couple but I'm gonna need to practice my thread cutting a bit more first!  :P

Mine are yucky looking.  I don't even know what new ones from BMW would cost, which is always the first thing I check before I go prowling around the aftermarket.  Well, usually.  Stan Smith has them but they're way too expensive for me:

But think of what you will save on shipping and unsprung weight! ;)
