‘83 Snowflake Wheels
« on: January 28, 2026, 10:25:39 AM »
Can anything be done to aid fitting a Tubeless Tire to these Snowflake wheels ?
Like Epoxy Paint to aid in length of air leak down.

I know some use Tubeless tires but don’t know about proper rim/tire fitment or personal users opinions, not theory.

Will read Snowbum (again) if a Judge makes it mandatory as part of a fine for going over
160 kph.

I had a shop mount a Metzeler Lazertec rear tire on my 81 standard R65 .
I was losing 6-8 pounds of air a week .
I took it back to the shop that mounted it and they thought it was a tubeless installation, even though the tire they replaced had a tube .
From what I remember the two different wheels the bead areas are different angles and the snowflake wheel is not meant for tubeless use .
You're call on how to proceed .

I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!
