ignition coil Bosh

BOSH F000ZS0103.

I have read in some posts, but now I can't find it anymore, positive comments about this ignition coil BOSH F000ZS0103.

https://www.amazon.com/BOSCH-000-ZS0-103-F000ZS0103/dp/B0039BWD6Q/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3LWOLE7XJMCZG&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.8rll8glsxZmkYo0iSDHDONr68SxvpkZVyioaNMn17ZJNOXYVr4YsuxFZqZxrX-l-TV0urSFggQq-2p1FCNeR7g.xp2kb9KijRRrXnQR6qbniET2JiS10IfoZaANIypuIBA&dib_tag=se&keywords=bosch+f000zs0103&qid=1739478559&sprefix=bosch+f000zs0103%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-1

Does anyone use it?

On my R65, 1979, points ignition, I have the black and red ignition coil, now 45 years old.
I would like to replace it.

Any other suggestions?

Hello,
For a coil to work you have to address a couple of issues.
First one is the primary winding resistance in order to cope with the maximal current the breaking device (the points in you case) can survive breaking.  I can't remember the value the set of two coils have but I bet this BOSCH one is not suitable because, IMHO it is devised to be used on an electronic ignition where as much primary current is fed to the coil as can be, hence have a very very low primary resistance.
Next comes the mechanical hassle to affix the new coil on the frame and held it properly in order for the OEM leads can reach the plugs and fit the towers on the coil.
And of course, you will have to convert the wiring to use the proper plug (AMP SuperSeal ? ) this new coil use...
All these headache will make me pass on this one. But I'm not in your shoes.  Just my 2¢
By the way, why would you replace the coils on your bike ? They are nearly indestructible if you prevent the case to rust ?

My doubt was also that it was not suitable for points ignition, now I understand why.

For now I will keep my coils.

I would have changed them only to prevent breakages, but I keep reading that they are indestructible and I want to believe it.

That's clearly a coil for car applications in a situation where a pair of coils were used to fire 4 cylinders directly i.e. without a distributor.
That type of arrangement didn't occur in the points era so I would say the coil almost certainly has a primary resistance that is much too low for points.

If you are looking for alternative coils of the dual output type then there are coils intended for 70's Honda's and Harley Davidsons that will work. In choosing a coil for points, don't go below 2.4 ohms primary resistance

Maybe I had the solution at home.
I've always only looked for specific spare parts for old BMWs.
I have a Harley shovelhead coil at home, with points ignition, 4 ohm.

Ignition coil by Accel, for Breaker points, primary resistance: 4 Ω.
Single Fire Ignition on Two Plug Cylinder Heads
For single fire applications on cylinder heads with two sparkplugs (the two spark plugs per head fire simultaneously, but the front and rear cylinders fire alternatingly), any dual fire ignition coil with two high voltage exits will do - as long as the primary resistance fulfills ignition system requirements.

So it would be enough to connect the coil to the 2 cables that go to poles 1 and 15, and the 15-1 bridge is no longer needed.

Thanks for the advice, I would like to be prepared for the funeral of the 2 coils.

Yes connect the green/blue wire that went to 15 on the rear coil to one side of your new coil and the two black wires that were on terminal 1 of the front coil to the other side.   There should be two black wires because one goes to the points and the other is the tacho connection.

Note: it doesn't matter which terminal you use for the Green/blue wire and which for the black wires on the new coil because the polarity doesn't matter on a dual output coil.

This simplified diagram should help.
