Broken fin

As usual I've broken something. This time it is a fin that couldn't stand being hammered on. Is it at all possible to fasten a broken fin? If so, how is it done?

BTW I dismantled the steering yokes today and that was easy, way easier than dismantling the handle bar of a bicycle. As the bearings were changed five years ago and are in good shape they only need a little new grease to be as good as new.

If you can find the piece, a guy with a TIG can probably weld it back on.  Or it's a good excuse to buy one yourself, I guess you can find them for under 2,000 dollars now.

I have seen some economically "thrifty" folks over here sometime have luck sticking them together with a product called JB Weld - don't know if such a product is available where you are.  The repairs are generally not cosmetically appealing, though - it could be a reflection on the skill of the repairer, rather than the product itself.

Here is Duane's take on it.  http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/bent_fins/index.htm

I don't know what Snowbum might have to say on the matter.

Nothing on Google jumped right out at me.

I think I would weld before I would glue.
