R65 seat options

Further to my thread on rear shocks and spinal 

I'm 6'4" and my natural seating position is right on the strap / where the hump is. If I move forward, my back is at a better angle, but then I get frog legs in or around the fairing. Back past the strap and I'm in 50s caff racer / silly mode with the high bars! The seat needs a recover, so I'm looking for something to flatten out the seat. I never have a pillion (but she might one day) and seat height is no issue at all. I like the upright riding position as it gives me good control, is comfortable and I can hang in/off in corners a bit if I want. Clip ons and low bars never worked for me.

I like the tail fairing and the tool space inside.

Any ideas?

I don't think there are aftermarket seats available for R65's, I don't think the larger displacement BMW airheads have compatible seats either .
My suggestion, would be locate a shop that does vehicle upholstery and see what they can do for you .
I've had all my seats redone by a local business, except for the Guzzi, it's still in good shape .

Hi Bob, I didn't realise there are a huge number of automotive trimmers in the UK. A small unit 5 miles from me does cars, lorries, camper vans and.... motorcycles.

I've taken your advise after seeing some dodgy youtube efforts of varying 'success' and have booked it in with him.

He was repairing a new set of damaged Bentley Flying Spur seats, booking in an otherwise restored Landy and had just completed a camper wagon when I got there. All looked very good and the price is right.

Same as Bob said.  I try and support local business as much as possible. 

I recently had to replace a rear tyre on my K75S a couple of months after replacing the rubber.  A bloody big nail deposited itself inside after a 300km trip to a pub for lunch
