Footpeg Rubbers

I managed to score some NOS footpeg rubbers for the front awhile back. I've tried getting the old ones off but am not having much luck... Can anyone tell me - do they just pull off? It appears as if they should but, Hell, I can't budge 'em.  :'(

I was able to get mine off after lots of tugging and twisting, but later realized I could have taken a razor sharp box knife to it and saved myself a great deal of trouble.   Putting the new ones on was a pita as well.  Probably should have used soapy water, or gasoline to lube it first.

Good luck,

Ed

I have found an excellent lubricant for rubber parts is silicone spray lubricant.  It is easy to use, and evaporates.

Any auto parts store should have it.

I changed mine out as well.. went with Windex as a lube... (water is just as good).

Many thanks guys. Ed - I was seriously thinking about cutting them off before I posted - but I just have this thing about destroying stuff - even if it is knackered.....that probably explains a lot now that I come to think of it.....hmmm.

Rob - you're a life saver - six squirts of silicon lube on each side and off they came in twenty seconds!

Praise the Lord and pass the silicon  ;)

Cheers
