Hangin' with the Guzzis....
« on: August 13, 2011, 07:54:12 AM »
I got invited by a riding buddy who owns a Guzzi (NC Steve) to attend a rally in Cruso, NC last weekend. Since it was only about 70 miles from my house in Greenville, SC I thought why not. I took my camera with me to get a good look at lots of Guzzis (and a few other makes). The campground (Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground) was nice, and the Guzzi owners even nicer. LOTS of nice bikes, too!

John, I saw that on the Wild Goose Chase forum last week after Steve posted them.  Great photos!  That's a really pretty camp ground.  Maybe one of these days I'll get back to that part of the country.

Oh yeah, really nice place, indeed!  And I even got to see a fellow forum member, Semper Gumby!  Actually, it was NC Steve who spotted Bill Sunday morning as everyone was busy breaking down tents and packing up to leave.  I walked over to him and introduced myself.  We had a nice chat, too.  The only thing I regret is I forgot to take a pic of him and his bike (the only R65 I saw there at the rally)!

Great pics, John!
I'm glad to see you getting some mileage on the pretty CLC.  How does it handle compared to your previous "C" model?

Hey, Mike!  At first, the CLC was a lot more difficult to handle in curves and in parking lots, due to the different rake of the forks and the size of the front wheel/tire.  It took about a month to get used to the weight of the bike (690 lbs vs 560 for my previous C).  However, I've gotten accustomed to the difference now, and it doesn't feel so cumbersome to me anymore.  It ain't no R65, to be sure, but I feel like I can throw it into curves now without feeling so paranoid!  ::)
