Hey Dav,

That was a fun ride with You and Dennis.

Here are some of the pics from the trip. Sorry no helmet cam so pics are pretty much stationary of the bikes but take my word for it the roads were brilliant.

Getting started

Bald hill

The maffia came to see us off!

from the bald hill park

The entrance to Macquarie Pass

Waiting for a gap in the traffic

The Robertson Pie Shop

Pie shop parking lot

And Berry for dessert!

Are you keen on Putty with the lil R65 next time?

Hey Dav (and any other interested parties),

Are you up for stretching the R65's legs sometime soon?

Possibly a trip to the hunter via putty road?

P.

Australia's still on my tin cup list (it's a downsized bucket list)... If and when I get there, I hope we can plan another "ride down the coast" with a guest Texan on a rental!

Hi Pete,

Sorry I missed the last one. I live in the Sutherland area so driving through the National Park to Wollongong is a regular jaunt for me. I grew up south of the Gong and love the ride through Jamberoo and then to Kiama. Never done Macqaurie Pass on a bike, something I must remedy and visit the Pie Shop

Would love to do the Putty road but a bit to far away from me, as my wife is in the last month toward her due date.

Any rides like the last one I may be able to tag along for, if you don't mind.

Also I sometimes organise a ride with work mates, (R100RT, R100/7 and Moto Morini 500). Would you like to know next time we do a south ride?

Best wishes,
Paul

Gday Pete, the putty road is one hell off a great road to ride, but for me its not something i would like to do on my R65.

What about a ran down south again (different route) with Paul. Paul iam also from Sutherland [smiley=thumbsup.gif].

ok lets get another run happening.

Hey fellow TX Burt, definitely let us know when you are coming this a way for a ride. Anything in the pipeline soon?

Hey Dav and Paul,

A run down the coast is always fun. I'm now based in Coogee so we could meet up at the entrance to the Nasho.

Slight change of weekends available - I can do this weekend coming or the weekend after easter of the 10/11th sound?

Pete.

Putty Rd, was always a fun drive in a car (I had a 302 XC Falcon then living in Newcastle with the RAAF). I have never taken a bike down it. It always brings memories of a mate who pushed the limits too far on his bike, and didn't make it. He was a fair way above the speed limit and was found a long way from the road, so blame for his death was definitely pilot error. But his memory comes back when ever I hear the name Putty Rd.

Hi Pete and Dav,

I am busy this weekend and keen for the weekend after Easter but my wife is due to give birth on 12th, so I may be out for this one. She will either be very uncomfortable, in hospital or at home with the 4 yr old terror and the baby. So I think I will be needed.

So sorry I may have to pass this time.

But when things are less hectic I would love to go for a ride with some other R65s.

Best to all,
Paul

I'm sorry to hear that Darwin.
Particularly attached to an otherwise awesome driving/riding road.

There is an added dimension to consider on that road nowadays given that the halfway fuel station burnt down last year. Means a full tank is necessary prior to departure for a peace of mind ride along it.

Otherwise for us southern dwellers it makes for a fun ride/drive straight into tasty wine country as a reward.

Dav, I've pencilled that weekend in. Paul how's it looking for you?

Best wishes for you and your family.
